Kraków Airport is expected to service 5.2 million passengers in 2017. EL AL Israel Airlines will join the ranks of carriers working with the Airport. After almost a seven-year break that started in July, Kraków will have a direct connection with the United States. In total, carriers will launch 27 new connections in 2017 with four continents: LOT – Chicago; El-Al – Tel Aviv; Eurowings – Dusseldorf; SAS – Stockholm; Jet2.com – Birmingham; Ryanair – Chania, Porto, Lourdes, Pescara, Venice, Valencia, Lamezia; Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Glasgow, Gӧteborg, Lisbon, Malmo, Marrakech, Marseille, Naples, Nuremberg, Prague, Seville, Tel Aviv and Frankfurt.

In 2017, there will take place reconstruction of the oldest (south-western) section of the apron at Kraków Airport. In the current year, Kraków Airport is planning to build a connector between the hotel and the footbridge, allowing the guests of Hilton Garden Inn to easily walk to the terminal without the need to walk outside. The most important investment task that Krakow Airport is facing is the construction of a new runway. This is the key element of the investment plan until 2023 adopted last year by the Meeting of Shareholders. The airport began the implementation of the investment with a dialogue with the local community.   Aviation Education Centre – a program aimed for children and teenagers planned for launch in the first half of the year. The classes will be suited to age groups and will include trips, workshops, and children theatre. Aviation Education Centre will be located in the previous Terminal T2, which will be equipped and adapted for this purpose by way of a public tender organized by Kraków Airport.
