CONRAD FESTIVAL 21-27.10.2019

The eleventh edition of the annual literary festival of Joseph Conrad focuses on the subject of “Literature and Realities”. During the festival week, issues of creating different realities by literature, their mutual conversations, disputes and struggles will be discussed. The names of subsequent days of the festival are: Things, Words, Images, Ideas, Relations, Places and Characters. The audience will have a chance to listen to the discussion between Olga Drenda and Marcin Napiórkowski about spiritual mythologies or learn the details of correspondence between Wisława Szymborska and Stanisław Barańczak. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the author of the novel “Half of a Yellow Sun”, will take part in a conversation about the freedom of the writer. Moreover, there will be a discussion on how publishing trends are shaped, while Jakub Żulczyk will talk about the serial adaptation of the book “Blinded by the Lights”.
