“Franciszek Wyspiański – a Cracovian sculptor”

The National Museum – the Józef Mehoffer House

 28.11.2017–30.07.2018

The exhibition commemorates Franciszek Wyspiański – a Cracovian sculptor and the father of Stanisław Wyspiański. It is a general presentation of the artist, which also aims to present his biography from a historical perspective. Apart from sculptures, the exhibition also features old photographs, documents and paintings that present successive stages of life of this outstanding citizen of Kraków. In the central place of the exhibition, there is a statue of “The Mother of God with Child” from 1867, which is supposedly a sculptural portrait of Maria Rogowska, the wife of the sculptor.
