A contract for constructing a new cargo terminal and associated facilities and infrastructure at Balice International Airport was signed in November.
Warsaw-based Mostostal Warszawa S.A. will be the contractor for the construction work. The author of the design documentation is a consortium of companies: AKE Studio, with its registered office in Tarnobrzeg, and APA Czech- Duliński-Wróbel Agencja Projektowa “Architektura”, with its registered office in Kraków. The new terminal will be located on local road No. 774, at a distance of approximately 1 km from the current cargo terminal and passenger terminal. The construction of the new terminal will make it possible to increase cargo handling at MPL to 8,000 t/year. In addition, the new location of the cargo terminal will allow truck traffic to be moved out of the immediate vicinity of the airport entrance, thereby improving access conditions to the passenger terminal.
