The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is not only a space flight programme that allowed humanity to set their feet on the Moon.
. Thanks to NASA, people on Earth can enjoy the beauty of our planet seen from space. This is made possible by the photos such as this one taken by the Hubble telescope orbiting around the Earth.
NASA’s mission is “to pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research”. Space explorations are possible thanks to, e.g. the space shuttles, such as Atlantis, shown in the photo (here: launch of the STS-117 human spaceflight mission). Whereas, in the photograph taken by the crew of the Expedition 49 while observing the Earth, you can admire the illuminated part of Belgium and the Alps covered in darkness.
