Post-competition Exhibition of Kraków Szopka

Celestat

10.12.2017–25.02.2018

The tradition of Krakowskie szopki (Kraków nativity scene) dates back to the second half of the 19th century. Richly decorated constructions referring to the architecture of historic Kraków, especially churches, commemorate the Christmas mystery. Every year, the jury, which includes art historians, visual artists and ethnographers, chooses victorious nativity scenes in four categories. These works, characteristic to Kraków, can be admired at the post-competition exhibition in the department of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków. mhk.pl
