Extension of the passenger terminal 

The objective of the extension project is to improve terminal functionality and increase its capacity, so that after the extension the passenger terminal can handle traffic of 12 million passengers per year, 3200 PAX/hour for departures and 3200 PAX/hour for arrivals under the Optimum Level of Service (according to ADRM, 11th Edition). In view of the airport's future urban planning context (the limited investment area and the need to find space to improve the transport and parking system), the commercial aspects and the need to proceed with the construction in such a way as to ensure operational processes are not disrupted and airport operation is not interrupted, the terminal building is planned for extension in stages, in two directions (eastward and westward), along with redevelopment of the existing part.
