#flyKRK to New York City with PLL LOT

After 13 years, a direct NEW YORK - KRAKOW – NEW YORK (JFK) connection is back in Kraków Airport’s route network. This is the second transatlantic connection after Chicago offered from Kraków Airport by the Polish national carrier. The travel time on the 7,000 km route is 8 hours and 40 minutes. This year, flights are operated once a week, from 25 June (first arrival) till 25 September (last departure). Airliners of the national carrier will land in Kraków every Friday at 8:55 am, to head back across the Atlantic on Saturday at 1:00 pm.

An inauguration ceremony for the route was held today. As tradition demands, the Lot Polish Airlines airliner arriving from the JFK Airport was greeted with a water salute on Kraków Airport apron, and the crew were presented with a special cake made to celebrate that occasion. The cutting of the ribbon was performed by honorary guests to the ceremony: Patrick T. Slowinski, PhD – U.S. Consul General, Andrzej Adamczyk – Minister of Infrastructure, Witold Kozłowski – Marshal of the Małopolskie Voivodeship, Bogusław Kośmider – Deputy Mayor of Kraków for Residents Services, Szymon Strzelichowski – Director General of the Małopolska Regional Office, Grzegorz Biedroń – President of the Małopolska Tourist Organization, Krzysztof Moczulski – Press Officer of LOT Polish Airlines and Radosław Włoszek – President of the Board of Kraków Airport. The passengers of the inaugural flight were greeted with coffee and small gifts from Kraków Airport.
